The name SimyLife stands for “Sense in my Life”.
Increasing bodily awareness creates the basis for enhancing performance. We’re not just saying this, we also put it into practice – using playful means.
SimyLife is dedicated to contributing a playful note to healthcare and prevention. The SimyBall, a central coaching app – SimyLife – and the corresponding gaming apps – SimyGames – were designed under the aspect of using fun and games to enhance your performance. And because you can’t train well without support, a virtual coach will provide you with tips and motivation.
Our mission statement is “Play Stress Away“.

Andreas Chabicovsky, MSc.
Andreas is the CEO of SimyLife. “It has to be fun and people have to stay on the ball”, he stated during the initial SimyBall design stage.
He has a wealth of experience in the fields of high-performance athletics, training and IT, which forms the basis for the underlying concept behind SimyBall. He is a passionate rower, and was a member of the Austrian national rowing team for several years, competing successfully on a national and international level. As a sports trainer qualified for Olympic-level training, but also within the range of management functions he has perfomred in the IT sector, he has always taken a keen interest in performance enhancement and regeneration. He first formulated his idea “Transferring performance enhancement strategies from high-performance athletics into working and everyday life” in his master’s thesis.
The SimyBall concept was born out of Andreas’ 20 years of experience in a range of management positions in the IT sector and his many years of coaching experience.
Marcel Aberle, MSc.
Marcel has been a passionate athlete since childhood and has played football in Germany at a semi-professional level for several years.
He is responsible for marketing and operations at SimyLife. Marcel has a comprehensive degree of knowledge in the fields of IT, organisation and strategy, gained over the course of 13 years working for notable IT companies. Since mid-2014, he has been actively involved in the start-up community and has already gained a wealth of experience in founding start-ups. In connection with his master’s thesis, he published his first book on the subject of social collaboration in corporate contexts. Marcel is the co-founder and COO of SimyLife.
“Playing and relaxing at the same time – sounds good”, were both Marcel’s words and his reason for taking an active part in the implementation of the SimyBall concept.
“Why don’t most people stay on the ball?” This is the question Andreas Chabicovsky asked himself when he observed that – despite the active involvement of the participants in his training sessions – the sessions themselves rarely led to a reduction in stress.
In the absence of a personal coach, most of the participants simply lacked motivation. Why not make the classic anti-stress ball intelligent and turn it into a games controller? A ball that not only provides feedback on your physical condition, but also feeds this information straight into a game – gamified mental training. The overall concept is rounded off by a virtual coach who accompanies the games, thereby securing your training success. “Play stress away” – the mission was defined.
The next step was finding a suitable partner. This was accomplished in the person of Marcel Aberle. The two of them founded a start-up to create the intelligent ball. They received support in developing the product and validating its efficacy from not just one but several universities, such as the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna, the University of Applied Sciences Hagenberg and the University of Vienna.
